Scientific kits are manufactured by PL Enrichment LLP
Kindly call 6238 0123 for a free demonstration without any obligation of purchase. The following schools and institutions - Anglo-Chinese School (Ind), St. Margaret's, Crescent Girls', Raffles Institution, Raffles Girls' School, Methodist Girls' School ,Bukit View and National Institue of Education - have already purchased some of the kits to supplement the science teachers' teaching. These kits bring life and a 'play factor' back into mundane teaching. Each of the kits is supplied with a copyrighted worksheet and teaching notes.

Kinetic Theory Model (left) - Operated with a 6 V a.c. It can be used to demonstrate the vibrations of particles of the solid state, the translations and rotations of particles both the liquid and gaseous states.

Cost: S$60

Magnetic Fields of Current-Carrying Conductors Model (bottom) - Operated with a 6V d.c. It can be used to demonstrate the various shapes of electromagnetic fields of a horizontal straight conductor, a vertical straight conductor, a flat coil and a solenoid. The latter is designed in such a way as to enable student to insert a small plotting compass into the solenoid to examine the magnetic field within the solenoid.

Cost: S$60

Fleming's Left Hand Motor Rule Model (below) - Operated with a 6 V d.c. It can be used to demonstrate the motion of a current-carrying straight conductor placed in a straight magnetic field (between 2 magnadur magnets). The various factors of changing the directions of magnetic field and current can be demonstrated with this kit. It will also work with just one magnet. The figure on the left below shows the plan view and the one on the right below shows the elevation view.

Cost: S$120.00

Hydraulic Press Model (right) - Operated manually. It can be used to demonstrate the basic principle of Pascal's Law of pressure transmission throughout a fluid. A student is able to raise a heavy one kg mass even with one finger, pressing down on the pan above the smaller cylinder. one finger, pressing down on the pan above the smaller cylinder.

F1/A1 = F2 /A2

Cost: S$60.00

The demountable (dismantable) transformer to the left can be used to show the high a.c. induced current in the secondary coil of a step down transformer. The primary coil has 1200 turns and the secondary 5 turns. The high current in the secondary is able to heat the iron nail tips up to a high temperature and melt them. This is because the high secondary current has to pass across the small cross-sectional area of the nail tips.

The close-up picture on the right shows the 5 turn secondary coil and the laminated soft iron core. The laminated soft iron sheets are riveted and insulated from each other. The whole demountable transformer is earthed for safety.

There are other accessories in the kit that can be used to demonstrate Lenz' Law.

Cost: S$395
